Albion’s Premier League Season Comparison – 7 games

Published on: Author: Jon Want

A telling statistic about Albion’s start to this season is that had they repeated the results achieved in the equivalent fixtures last season, they would have enjoyed their best start to a Premier League season and be sitting in sixth place.

With Arsenal having been the only one of last season’s top seven that the Baggies have played, it does feel like an opportunity missed, particularly given the encouraging start.

Conceding the late equaliser to Watford was galling, but it was probably a fair result and it does maintain Albion’s unbeaten home record in the league.

Game 8 has not been too good for the Baggies in recent seasons, with the last victory being six years ago when goals from Brunt and Odemwingie saw off our near neighbours, in the first leg of a league double over Wolves in what was their latest season in the top flight.
