Albion’s Premier League Season Comparison – 10 games

Published on: Author: Jon Want

Unsurprisingly, Albion surrendered their unbeaten home record to the table-toppers and extended their winless league run to eight games.

A 3-2 is a little flattering as City dominated the game and, had they been clinical in front of goal, it could’ve easily been another of those 5 or 6 goal wins that they have become known for this season. Their attacking intent does tend to give the opposition a chance, and the Baggies managed to score two and had a couple of other decent chances, with Rondón’s header early in the second half perhaps the best.

This result will make little different to Pulis’s position. Albion did show a little but more than they did at Southampton, but no one would’ve expected them to get anything from this game. Next week’s trip to Huddersfield, however, is another story.

Albion had 10 from 10 last season, but their 11th match, the 2-1 win at Leicester, was the start of a run of form that saw them pick up 30 points from 16 games to hit the 40-point mark by the end of February. I’m struggling to see that happening this season…
