Albion’s Premier League Season Comparison – 24 games

Published on: Author: Jon Want

Victory over Stoke City means that this is now Albion’s best “start” to a Premier League season – they now have two more points after 24 games than they did under Steve Clarke four years ago and, unlike the second half of that season, the Baggies are in good form and well placed to break the 50 point barrier that has proved elusive so far.

It is the first time that Albion have had a positive goal difference at this stage of the season in the Prem having conceded fewer goals than ever before. That is despite only recording five clean sheets so far this season, compared to eight by the same stage last season.

Game 25 takes the Baggies to the London Stadium for the first time. In their first Premier League season, game 25 saw them visit Maine Road for the last time, a match which they won 2-1 thanks to goals from Neil Clement and Big Dave. One other away win has been achieved in Premier League game 25 – the small matter of a 5-1 win at Molineux…
