Albion’s Premier League Season Comparison – 24 games

Published on: Author: Jon Want

There are definite signs that things are starting to turn around for the Baggies. They deserved at least a point from their trip to Goodison, and were unlucky not to get all three.

Rondón was excellent and was unlucky not to get at least one goal, but the fact that he didn’t convert any of the chances he got is a concern, and there are still no signs of any new signings to take the pressure off the Venezuelan up front.

The point is Albion’s 20th this season, and just their seventh point away from the Hawthorns this season. It leaves Albion still in 19th place but just three points behind Newcastle in 15th.

In the Great Escape season, game 24 was Bryan Robson’s first league win as Albion manager as they beat Manchester City 2-0 thanks to goals from Kevin Campbell and Ronnie Wallwork. Beating City is something of a different proposition these days, of course, and that is the challenge that the Baggies face in their next league game, although they have a cup interlude next Saturday with a trip to Anfield.
